What is Ruijie CPP technology?

Introduction to CPP technology
CPP is the CPU protection strategy of Ruijie switches. It is used to manage and control the packets sent to the CPU, and different strategies are used to differentiate and prioritize different packets to ensure the priority processing of important messages and reduce the CPU load of the switch, thus protecting the normal processing capability of the switch.
CPP technology is a proprietary technology and feature developed by Ruijie Networks.
Application scenarios and problem-solving:
CPP technology is applicable to any scenario. As part of the data forwarding process in a switch requires CPU processing, a high volume of data traffic can lead to
increased CPU load, affecting normal forwarding and resulting in packet loss. Additionally, this provides an opportunity for attackers, as they may maliciously send data at a high frequency to occupy CPU performance, causing network latency to increase and resulting in a degraded user experience.
The problem is how to solve it:
In response to the above-mentioned shortcomings, Ruijie Networks has proposed a CPU Protection Policy (CPP) technology to effectively protect the CPU of the switch, limiting or even blocking attack packets. When an attack occurs, the necessary packets are prioritized for normal processing, ensuring the stability of the switch and the network.
The basic principle of CPP is to classify and prioritize the flows sent to the CPU and implement bandwidth throttling to fully protect the CPU from being occupied by illegal traffic, malicious attacks, and resource consumption.
