VPN Connection Slow

Hi,
until recently we used L2TP as VPN method. Because this protocol is already old, we decided to use OpenVPN. Setup and such was very simple, and with the support of a technician super easy.

But our current problem is that we have a synchronous internet connection, 100Mbit/s download, 100Mbit/s upload, but through the VPN tunnel we only get around 20Mbit/s download and 20Mbit/s upload.

Would anyone have a hint where this throttling can come from? Because we had the same problem with L2TP and PPTP as well.

BR
René

Dear René,

Thank you for reaching out.
May I please confirm the device model is RG-EG210G-E? And what is its current firmware version?

Best regards,
Jayden
