How to connect to OpenVPN as a client direct from router config OpeVPN tab
Model: RG-EW1800GX PROTask: Connect to a OpenVPN as a client without installing the desktop app (connecting directly from the router)
Service Mode: Certificate
Upload a client config .ovpn file
Hit Save button
Result: not connected
Should I need to refresh config/restart the router? or something else? I'm missing a connect button or a more explicit way to connect
(Both, upload and Save operations say successful, also tested the certificate in the desktop app and connect without problems)
Dear:
could you help us with your current configuration sothat we can check if something is not correct please?
You can share your project network to my email: javier@ruijie.com.cn
Thank you.

I suppose it's a problem with config uploading&saving. I have the same problem as you if you trying to connect as a client. Tried multiple times by upload>save>restart for different service types. Nothing..
Before that i uploaded a config now look what happens:

Dear Alexander:
Dear sir
Sorry for making you any inconvenience. May I know your open VPN server device? Please help check whether the VPN server is using public ip address and the corresponding port of Open VPN:UDP1194 has been allowed to pass through the network so that the VPN connection can be established successfully.
Can you try to configure open VPN for the routers via this guide on page 88 to try again: https://www.ruijienetworks.com/resources/preview/ruijie-reyee-mesh-routers-web-based-configuration-guide

If the problem still exists, could you help show me the router OPEN VPN configuration and capture the packets on the router to further check this issue? Thank you for your cooperation.
Best regards
Jenny
