The rate-limit command supports two functions: rate limit and priority setting. The rate-limit statement requires setting the rate limit and IP priority at the same time. It classified packets by Type of Service (ToS) or Class of Service (CoS) value of packets (IP priority or Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP) value for IP packets) and 5-tuple information of IP packets (source address, destination address,protocol, source port ID, destination port ID), to mark packets and rate the traffic.
