Look under the comparison.
Im looking at what features the RG-EG range has as basic firewall doesn't answer much.

OK that makes sense that is degrades the forwarding performance. How about normal web browsing and downloads?
What extra security does the Advanced firewall option provide?

Normal web browsing and downloading will also be affected a little.

Extra security: for example, filtering invalid ICMP packets and invalid protocol packets.
