Wireless roaming refers to the process in which when a wireless client connects switches from one AP to another, they stillconnect to the same SSID. Difference (1) L2 roaming:
In the whole process of Layer 2 roaming, the wireless client uses the same VLAN and the IP address remains unchanged.
(2) L3 roaming:
The VLAN of the wireless client is different before and after Layer 3 roaming, but the IP address of the wireless client remains the same.
(3) Cross-AC roaming:
When two APs are managed by two different ACs, the process of switching from one AP to another is called cross-AC roaming.
Cross-ac roaming requires that a tunnel be established between two AC's (home AC and Foreign AC) to exchange roaming data.
