Although a managed switch can flexibly adapt to customers' diverse business needs, the cost is also higher.
An unmanaged switch refers to a switch that cannot be configured (debugged) through a computer's web interface, command line (Telnet, SSH, control line). It can be used by simply connecting the power and network cable, but it cannot perform functions such as subnetting and MAC binding. An unmanaged switch cannot flexibly adapt to customer needs, but the cost is lower.
Application scenarios and problems solved:
Manageable switches are suitable for scenarios with large scale, complex networks, diverse business types, and sufficient budget (such as chain and three-star hotels, large enterprises, government agencies, commercial complexes, 3A and above scenic spots), to solve the needs and issues of dividing the network into segments with the largest number of terminals, reducing the scope of network failure, loop avoidance, and setting internet access permissions.
The un-manageable switch is suitable for simple scenarios with low budget, no network segmentation requirements, such as small hotels, security monitoring, small and micro enterprises, catering, KTV, small hotels, etc.
