Title: Mesh AP wireless [Print this page] Author: Bryce@pebcak.co Time: 2024-9-4 17:57 Title: Mesh AP wireless I’m having trouble with a site, I’ve looked but no solutions work.
I have a EW1800GX-Pro router, with two RAP2260(G) AP connected directly to the router via network cable. All is working fine with this.
I now need to add WiFi to another area where it’s not possible to get cable to. Power is available. Wifi is excellent strength from one of the existing AP, zero signal to the router.
How, if possible, do I connect another RAP2260(G) to an existing AP as mesh via WiFi? I’ve tried all manner of things but it just won’t join the project. If I take the AP to the router itself and hard wire it it connects, but as soon as I remove the physical link it shows offline in my project Author: liujunhui1@ruij Time: 2024-9-5 09:59
Hi sir
I‘m sorry that we can't provide a specific solution for you based on current information.
Can you help to check the following aspects:
May I confirm the distance between two APs RAP2260(G) ?for AP mesh it will require the distance between two mesh APs less then 10 meters
When Reyee AP connects via mesh, AP will not need wired connection
May I also confirm the current network topology
you may try to connect device like: EW1800GX-Pro--wired connection->RAP2260(G)--mesh->RAP2260(G)
If the issue still exists, please talk with me again. I would be glad to help you in Community. Author: Bryce@pebcak.co Time: 2024-9-5 21:00
1. About 8 Meters between the AP I want to get connected and a hard wired AP.
2. That’s what I’m trying to do.
3. This is how I’m trying to do it. The EW1800 is about 65 meters away so I can’t use it to mesh to. One AP is wired back to the EW1800, and I need another AP put near the wired AP, but it has to be a wireless connection. Author: wangyanjun3@rui Time: 2024-9-13 23:55
