Title: Is RG-NBR6205-E have a routing subnet capability?
I plan to have this setup..

Then, a wired desktop computer(192.168.10.0/24)
wants to print in a printer that is wireless (192.168.20.0/24)
. Or a local DAV transfer from wireless Laptop (
192.168.20.0/24) to wired desktop computer(192.168.10.0/24), vice versa.
So, they're in a different netmask.

It is possible for RG-NBR6205-E, this kind of setup?

Hi Trusty Hoister,
You can use subinterface.

Hi Trusty Hoister,
You can use subinterface.

So, for me to understand your explanation... RG-NBR6205-E does have a capability
communicate multiple VLAN Subnets? Like, VLAN0 to VLAN1 file transfer, or VLAN0 to VLAN2 printing.

Hello,

Sorry for your inconvenience. wireless cannot support corss-vlan communication.

If you still have any issue pls talk with me again. I am glad to help you in community.

Best regards

Hello,

Sorry for your inconvenience. wireless cannot support corss-vlan communication.

What do you mean? So, if i setup the VLAN configuration in router? and plug AP there, It does not support cross-VLAN?

For more specific.

RG-RAP2260(G) is in LAN0 and another RG
-RAP2260(G) is LAN1. And VLAN is only configured in router, not in AP itself.  But, in APs, there will be a multiple SSID.

Can i still do a cross-VLAN communication with that?

If the address pools of different vlans belong to different subnets, cross-VLAN communication can be implemented. Vlans are used to isolate Layer 2 network communication. Communication between subnets cannot be isolated by VLAN.
But If the subinterface on the NBR is configured with a VLAN TAG, the interface connected to the NBR of AP must also be configured with allow VLAN.

This is what i actually want to do.

In RG-NBR6205-E I'll setup a:
VLAN0 with the subnet of 192.168.10.0/24 - For company devices - SSID
VLAN1 with the subnet of 192.168.20.0/24 - For
personal devices SSID
VLAN2 with the subnet of 192.168.100.0/24 - For
guest connection SSID

and VLAN0, VLAN1, and VLAN2 should be distributed by 2 APs, plugged in to LAN0 and LAN1 of the router.
Now, in 2 APs. They both should have for 3 SSIDs.
And every SSIDs have their own specific subnet IP.

And when the user is  connected in SSID personal devices — the IP they will get is from 192.168.20.0/24(VLAN1), and they should be allowed to communicate with 192.168.10.0/24(VLAN0) to print. Since printers are in VLAN0.
In other words, cross-VLAN and routing configuration is configured in RG-NBR6205-E; and APs, will only act as wireless connection distributor.

Will that work?
