Title: Urgent!! Open vpn 3.5.0 error on iphone
Hi,

I got this problem when connecting the iphone to EG310GH-E (site) using open vpn from Apple store (version 3.5.0). Before update the openvpn app, i'm using version 3.4.2 on same iphone unit and working well.
Iphone info: (test unit) iphone 15 pro (IOS 17.5.1) & iphone 13 pro.
this openvpn implemented on 20 sites (connection type: client to site).
Any additional configuration or tweaks to do to solve this problem? or how to revert back to old version of openvpn?

Note: Required access to site only using iphone (provided by HQ/by policy: only using provided device)

1. did you try use Android and laptop to connect test use the same openvpn client version?
2. EG310GH-E can you give me the this device currently version? If not, can you upgrade to the latest version for testing?

3.Can you do a packet capture on EG?

4.I checked this version at app store ,Can you try to roll back to an older version in the history version for testing?

1. android (v3.4.2 (9909)) and laptop/windows (openvpn GUI v11.15.0.0) computer was no issue.
2. ReyeeOS 2.300.0.2111
3. will do later
4.will do a research how to roll back (upgraded device) / or do you have guidance. How about for 1st time installed apps on new device?

how to attach file? can not manage attach file in this menu.
on iphone both eg (upgrade and not upgraded os) got the same error
note: from 20 site, another 13 EGs not upgrade yet.

on iphone already add cert given by EG and verified but in apps the cert was missing or not detected.
I saw on internet, missing cert must cum from profile extension (PKCS#12)/ file.p12 cert file.

1. Yes and older version too.
2. no, I did not manage to roolback to older version..no option on iphone to do that.

Dear cusomter
can you upgrade the EG version to the latest firmware to test.
The current problem seems to be caused by the mismatch between the client and server openvpn versions.

setting server mode : account only.

+ Still remain fail on ios openvpn v3.5.0
+ Android phone -ok
+ Windows pc -ok

Install new eg at new site and upgrade to latest version.

Ensure that your VPN configuration files are up-to-date and compatible with the new app version. To revert to an older version, you would need to find the .ipa file for version 3.4.2, but this is generally not recommended due to security risks.

1. Do you tested open vpn in ios version 3.5.0 iphone?
2. I already research for revert process but not easy to do that. 1st we need that ipa file which is can get if we got backup from iphone before / sync to itune. so far i did not get that file to try it.
If i manage to do that, it is not best practical for me because this project need to install and setting at 20 branches (manager phone).

3. All the EGs (310GH-E) already update to latest fw.

I already test with one unit;

1. vpn with no tls
2. disable VPN and restart EG.
3. new setting for that openvpn configuration.
4. test with 3 device
a. iphone - fail / same result
b. android - ok
c. windows - ok

So, what should I do now?
all sites already linked to HQ using ipseq and last one openvpn on iphone (only this not complete yet).

My hope ruijie/reyee site help me urgently before this matter reaches the customer's top management.

Mohd Zaki Mat Deris, he changed the ovpn.file and can reslove this solution.

I am testing and checking in our lab, will feedback to you asap.
