Title: 802.1X has been disabled because master devices in the group do not support the 802.1X feature. [Print this page]

Dear Lian Hong,
Good day.
At present, the wireless 802.1X solution can only be used if all devices in the network support it. If a device that does not support 802.1x is added to the network, the function will not work properly. The current scenario is a pure AP scenario, the 802.1x function has been configured, and an EG device that does not support the 802.1x function has been added (this device has a high priority and will be elected as the master). If no configuration is changed, authentication can still be performed normally, but some functions based on the master will not be available, such as the escape function.

Best regards,
Lex

Hi Lex,

Thank you for answering. If I remove the EG device from the topology, directly connecting my ES and RAP device to my network? Can I still use the 802.1X feature?

Dear sir,
As long as all devices in your entire network support 802.1X, it can run normally.
Currently RG-RAP2200(E) 、RG-RAP1200(P) 、RG-RAP1200(F) 、RG-RAP2200(F) 、RG-RAP1201 are not support with 802.1X.
Best regards,
Lex

Hi Lex,
I have RG-ES220GS-P switches and RG-RAP2260(G) AP. I removed RG-EG210G-E router from the topology. I still cannot authenticate to the wifi using RADIUS Server. Please advise on how I can make it work.
