Wifi Speed Drop when many cellphones doing live streaming

Hi,
My ISP speed is 400 Mbps but when 20 or more cellphones doing live streaming it drop to 40 Mbps, here the tests:
case 1:
- 20 cellphones
connected to the access point but idle
- 1 cellphones (wifi)
get speed test around 400 Mbps
- I see the total stats of 400 Mbps for upload/download on admin dashboard

case 2:
- 1 live streaming consume 4 Mbps, the total should be 80 Mbps for 20 client

- 20 cellphones (wifi) doing Live streaming.
- 1 cellphone (wifi)
doing speedtest, Download 15 Mbps and Upload 2 Mbps
- I see the total stats it only 40 Mbps for upload/download on admin dashboard not 400 Mbps

- but if I Test the speed using LAN while streaming
it get normal result of 400 Mbps.

I tried changing different Wifi Band, Channel and Power but it has no effect.

it is Wifi RG-EW1800GX PRO limitation?

hello sir please keep in mind Bandwidth sharing and network congestion
  • When 20 cellphones are actively streaming video (which requires a constant data stream), they will collectively saturate your available bandwidth. Even though your ISP provides 400 Mbps, when multiple devices are using the network simultaneously, the available bandwidth is shared among all devices.
  • [strong]Example[/strong]: If each device is consuming around 4 Mbps (for live streaming), then 20 devices will need 80 Mbps. However, your network may not be able to handle the aggregated load due to other bottlenecks (like router capacity, interference, etc.), causing a drop in the total available bandwidth.
Ensure that devices are connected to the least congested frequency band (preferably 5 GHz). If possible, use multiple access points or Wi-Fi mesh systems to distribute the load.

  • I Found the problem, There are 2 hidden SSID (2.4G and 5G) that causing heavy interference and overheat to the device.
I'm sure the 2.4Ghz SSID is turned off in the WiFi setting, but instead of turned off it just hidden.
For 5Ghz I don't know where it came from but the channel always following the Main/visible SSID.
I try another cheaper router and they are work normally because they don't have hidden SSID.
