What is the size fans in the RG NBS3200-24GT4XS-P switch? The fan noise is loud. |
The abnormal noise of the device is caused by the low-load protection mechanism imported, which does not affect the device performance. You only need to add POE terminals to eliminate the noise. |
GTAC-Micca replied at 2023-3-30 10:21 All the POE devices are connected to the 1st switch. The ports on the 2nd switch, the POE has been disabled. |
Mario replied at 2023-3-31 02:27 May I know whether there is noise from switch 1 or switch 2? Is the POE terminal connected to a noisy switch? |
GTAC-Micca replied at 2023-3-31 09:32 Hello, All the devices the gateway and the switches contribute to the fan noise. The 2 NBS3200 switches are the loudest. I will order a the NBS5200 non-POE switch, will take several months to arrive in the USA. I am reviewing the new fanless Ruijie switch RG-S2915-24GT4MS-L but the specs are the same as the Reyee NBS3200 or NBS5200 switches. I am not able to RMA the switches being in the USA. I can replace the fans with noctua models to reduce the noise. Thanking you in advance. |
Mario replied at 2023-3-31 10:13 The maximum POE power consumption of the NBS3200 is 370W. If the POE power consumption is greater than 10W, the device does not emit abnormal sound. Have you ever tried to connect a POE terminal to the downlink switch? As long as the power consumption is greater than 10W, the issue will not appear. |
GTAC-Micca replied at 2023-4-3 09:20 The 2nd switch does not have any POE devices plus POE has been disabled on every port. The fan noise is still present. |
Mario replied at 2023-4-3 10:11 I mean you should connect to POE device to this noisy switch( 2nd switch) so that it consumes more than 10W to avoid this problem. |
GTAC-Micca replied at 2023-4-5 12:50 The 2nd switch with no POE devices has the same fan volume/noise as the 1st switch with the POE devices. |
