Issue Description A wireless client can connect to the Wi-F inetwork, but cannot access the Internet. Network Topology 1. Possible Causes 1.1 Internet access is unavailable because the broadband subscription is overdue, the Ethernet cable connected to the WAN port is damaged, or the uplink device blocks the client. 1.2 The client is configured with a static IP address that is not on the same network segment as that of the IP address assigned by the router. 1.3 The router is configured with a schedule to block Wi-Fi connectivity for connected clients. 1.4 The DNS configuration on the router is incorrect. 1.5 ARP binding is enabled on the router. 1.6 The wireless function is disabled. 1.7 Excessive interference exists in the wireless environment. 2. Troubleshooting 2.1 Extranet Is Disconnected Because the Broadband Subscription Is Overdue, the Ethernet Cable Connected to the WAN Port Is Damaged, or the Number of Uplink Devices Exceeds the Limit In this case, both wireless and wired users cannot access the Internet. Check whether the WAN configuration is correct. If so, connect the client to the Wi-Finetwork through the modem or connect another router or PC directly to the modem of the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and test the Internet connectivity. If not, contact your ISP to check whether your broadband subscription expires orwhether a fault occurs on the uplink. If the uplink works properly, replace theEthernet cable between the modem and router. 2.2 The Client Is Configured with a Static IP Address That Is Not on the Same Subnet As the IP Address Delivered by the Router Check whether the static IP address is configured correctly. If not, select Obtain an IP address automatically or reconfigure an IP address on the same subnet (192.168.110.x) as the IP address delivered by the router, and configure a correct gateway address. 2.3 Internet Disconnection Periods Are Configured If Internet disconnection periods are configured, the client cannot access the Internet during the periods on a regular basis. Delete the configuration and test whether the client can access the Internet. Incorrect DNS configuration causes domain name resolution exceptions, resulting in Internet access failure for both wired and wireless clients. Choose More> Basics > LAN > LAN Settings and check whetherthe DNS server address is configured. If so, delete the configuration, and seta valid DNS server address such as 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. 2.5 ARP Binding Is Enabled on the Router The static ARP binding is incorrect. If the IP address and MAC address do not match those of the PC, the PC cannot access the Internet. Check the MAC address and IP address of the PC against the ARP list, and delete the static ARP binding to test whether the PC can access the Internet. 2.6 The Wireless Function Is Disabled If the wireless function is disabled on the router, the Wi-Fi signals are unavailable. Log in to Eweb of the router, and choose Advanced > Wi-Fi Switch to check whether Wi-Fi Switch is toggled off. In an environment with excessive interference, packets may be lost on the air interface when a client connects to the Wi-Fi network of the router, resulting in Internet access failure. 2.8 Check the Device Status by Using the Network Check Function (a)Device model and software version (b) MACaddress and model of the faulty client (c)Online sharing |
