Routing control in Ruijie switch can be divided into two categories:

ACL and prefix-list

ACL can be used to filter data packets and match the five elements of IP packets. Prefix-list can only be used to match routing prefixes. When matching route prefixes, you can use ACL or prefix-list. Just choose one of the two. When you need to match routing prefixes with different mask lengths in a large networksegment, it is more convenient to use prefix-list.


distribute-list and route-map

distribute-list can only filter routing entries and cannot modify routing attributes; route-map can not only filter routing entries, but also modify routing attributes.

route-map can forcibly modify the next hop of the data packet for policy routing.

Distribute-listis applied in: routing protocol redistribution, route transfer between distance vector routing protocol neighbors (distance vector protocol neighbors transfer routes, so route filtering can be done) and link state routing protocols When submitting a route to the routing table (the link state protocol neighbors pass LSA, not the route, and the LSA passed between neighbors cannot be filtered).

The place where route-map is applied is: when the routing protocol is redistributed, and when the bgp neighbor passes the route.
