I am reviewing the functionality of iportal working with Centralized Forwarding, Local Forwarding and group-vlan. However, the documentation is not clear. I want to know if it is possible to assign different vlans (group-vlan) to an ssid that works through a captive portal in iportal. Also, I want to know what are the limitations or scopes in the implementation in Centralized Forwarding or Local Forwarding Regards. |
Dear sir Sorry the AC can not support assign different vlans for iportal SSID. You can check the difference between local forwarding mode and central forwarding mode as below: local forwarding mode: advantages: The Internet data of wireless users is directly forwarded through the access switch and the core switch without passing through AC, which reduces the delay of data transmission and improves the network performance. disadvantages: Since wireless users' data does not pass through AC, AC cannot directly intervene in flow control, QoS management, etc., which increases the complexity of network management. central forwarding mode: advantages: All wireless user data is passed through AC for unified management and control, such as flow control, QoS settings, security policies, and more. disadvantages: Wireless users' data needs to go through AC before forwarding, which may increase the delay of data transmission and affect the user experience.
