a) Router > Overview > Work mode, click on the "Work Mode" setting button

b) Disable the "Self-Organizing Network" and click “Save”.

You can change the RAP working mode on this page


And you can configure wireless repeater on EW router to extend the current wireless network coverage or the primary router: https://community.ruijienetworks.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1881&extra=page%3D1

Regarding the advantages of SON, please refer to this link to learn it. What is the SON? - Router - Ruijie Community (ruijienetworks.com)
If you disable the SON, then you can configure the device seperately.
