Dear Support,
Has the support team ever encountered or attempted a sub-project involving roaming? For example, if APs from sub-projects A and B are separate but share the same SSID, is seamless roaming between them possible?

Thank you and Best Regard.

Dear sir,
Good day.

If different networks use the same SSID, devices can theoretically roam between these networks. However, some conditions need to be met to achieve this roaming:
- Same authentication method: All access points must use the same authentication method (such as WPA2 or open network), and if encryption is used, the same password is required.
- Seamless switching: In order to achieve a true roaming experience, that is, users can maintain their connection when moving between networks, a good coordination mechanism is required between all access points. This usually requires the support of protocols such as 802.11k/v/r to assist in fast switching and load balancing.
- Same subnet and IP configuration: If a device roams from one network to another, the two networks should be in the same logical subnet, and the DHCP server should be able to provide the device with the correct IP address configuration, or the device should have a static IP address.
- Infrastructure support: In actual deployment, the support of the network infrastructure also needs to be considered, such as communication delay between access points, signal coverage, etc.

Best regards,
Lex
