You can follow the steps blow to troubleshoot this issue
I Cause Analysis
1. Insufficient bandwidth provided by the ISP
2. The upstream wired port bandwidth of the AP is insufficient.
3. Low RSSI value
4. Low wireless negotiation rate
5. Congested channel
6. High or low power of AP
II Solution
Note: It is recommended to perform the speed test with the terminal near the AP and connected to the 5G SSID. At the same time, the number of connected users should be 1-2 for better speed test results.
1. Insufficient bandwidth provided by the ISP
If the bandwidth provided by the ISP is low, it is normal to have a low wireless speed. You need to apply for a higher bandwidth in order to achieve a higher wireless rate.  
If the bandwidth provided by the ISP is high, please connect the PC directly to the same switch as the AP for wired speed testing to see if the wired connection can achieve the appropriate speed. If the speed obtained by the PC meets the requirements, proceed to the next step.
Note:
For example, if there are 100 users in a customer's network who need to access the internet simultaneously, but the bandwidth provided by the ISP is 100-200, this bandwidth is not evenly distributed among the users, but rather contended. If some users consume more bandwidth, others will have less available bandwidth. In this case, it is necessary to consider requesting a higher bandwidth from the ISP.
2. The upstream wired port bandwidth of the AP is insufficient.
View the negotiated rate of AP's upstream wired port

If the port of the AP supports negotiation for 1000M, but the current speed is not 1000M, then:
Check if the network cable supports 1000M.
Check if the port connecting the upstream device and the AP supports 1000M.
Replace the network cable for testing;
3. Low RSSI value
When conducting extreme speed tests, it is recommended to perform speed tests when the RSSI value is above -50 dBm;
When users are using the device normally, it is recommended to have an RSSI value higher than -60 dBm for speed testing.
Viewing the RSSI value of wireless users on the AP: Monitoring > Devices > AP > Tick AP, click Web CLI

The RSSI value displayed here by clicking the button (corresponding to the command: show dot11 associations all-client) in Ruijie AP indicates the received signal strength, ranging from 0 to 100 (the corresponding wireless user signal strength is -95 on this basis, for example, RSSI 51 in the figure above, corresponding wireless user signal strength is 51-95 = -44dBm).
If the RSSI value is low (below -60), it is recommended to close the terminal to the AP or increase the power of the AP appropriately, so that the terminal user can obtain a higher RSSI value.
4. Wireless Negotiation Rate is Low
The rate of wireless users is related to the negotiated rate. The higher the negotiated rate, the higher the rate that users may obtain. If the ISP provides sufficient bandwidth, wireless users can achieve a rate of approximately half of the negotiated rate.
For example, if a user wants to achieve a speed of 100Mbps, the bandwidth provided by the ISP needs to be higher than 100Mbps, and the negotiated rate between the wireless user and the AP should be around 300Mbps.
During the testing process, it is recommended to check the negotiated rate between wireless users and AP frequently to observe the changes in the negotiated rate. When the negotiated rate fluctuates within a small range, the speed test results may be higher. However, if the negotiated rate fluctuates in a jumping manner, the speed test results may be lower.

The negotiated rate is related to the RF Channel Width. When configured with a higher Channel Width, both wireless users and AP will have a higher negotiated rate. At the same time, a higher Channel Width will also bring more wireless interference compared to a lower Channel Width.




As shown in the figure above, the user is currently connected to the 5G SSID with a negotiated rate of RATE_DOWN 173.0M and RATE_UP 173.0M.
After adjusting the 5GHz Channel Width to 40, perform another speed test and check the negotiated rate.

You can see that the negotiated rate is higher when the 5GHz Channel Width is set to 20M.
If the AP supports Wi-Fi 6, you can enable Wi-Fi for testing.

After enabling Wi-Fi 6, perform a speed test again and check the negotiated rate.
If the negotiated rate is still low after changing to Wi-Fi 6, please try the following steps:
Check if the network card of the test terminal supports Wi-Fi 6;
Try moving the test terminal and check the negotiated rate while the terminal is moving. Conduct speed tests in locations with higher negotiated rates.
Note: If users can obtain sufficient negotiated rate with a lower Channel Width, it is not recommended to increase the Channel Width to avoid causing greater wireless interference.
5. Congested channel
View the channel utilization of the current AP. There are three statuses of Channel:
Idle: 0%-59%
Busy: 60%-79%
Overload: 80%-100%
When the channel utilization status is Idle, it indicates that the current channel used by the AP is relatively free and there is less wireless interference. When the channel utilization status is Busy or Overload, it indicates that the current channel used by the AP is crowded and there is more wireless interference. It is recommended to change the channel used by the AP.

Click on SN to enter the AP details page and you can also view the historical channel utilization.

If the channel utilization rate is high, you can try changing the channel and testing again.


6. The power configuration of the AP is not suitable for the current environment.
When APs are deployed close to each other or when the channel utilization of an AP is high, you can try reducing the power of the AP to reduce wireless interference.
When the terminal is far away from the AP, you can try increasing the power of the AP.
