EG device has 3 work modes: gateway mode, bridgemode and bypass mode. Gateway mode and bridge mode are commonly used. Their differences are: (1) Gateway mode is a deployment mode that regardsthe device as a network outlet and supports message forwarding via NAT androuting. (2) Bridge mode is a deployment mode in which theequipment is used as a bridge and connected in series between the core switchof the internal network and the gateway outlet of the external network. (3) Bypass mode is just attached to the switch. Itcan only implement the accounting function in bridge mode. Notice:RG-EG2100-P doesn't support bridge and bypass mode. |
