Title: VLAN Technology Principles
Introduction to VLAN

Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) is a technology that divides ports on a switch into groups. Originally, all ports on the same switch could communicate with each other. However, with VLAN technology, ports are isolated and assigned to different VLANs. Ports within the same VLAN can communicate with each other, while ports in different VLANs cannot.

Application Scenarios and Problem-solving:
In various network scenarios, as the number of computers in the network increases, traditional networks are facing various problems such as severe data transmission conflicts, broadcast storms, and inadequate security. These problems can be solved by VLAN.
For example, a switch is like a classroom, which is also a broadcast domain because every student can hear the teacher's speech. If two students answer the teacher's question at the same time and the teacher cannot hear clearly, it is called data collision. If the teacher wants to speak to the monitor individually but there is no partition in the classroom, causing everyone to hear the content, it is called broadcast flooding. At the same time, these contents being heard by other students also means that the information is not secure. VLAN technology isolates the classroom to solve these problems.

The problem is how to solve it:
All of our manageable switches support VLAN configuration. By configuring VLAN on the switch, users within the same VLAN can communicate with each other, while users from different VLANs are isolated. This allows for the isolation of broadcast domains and enhances network security.
