How long is the license validity period?

All licenses for the RG-WALL 1600-Z-S series firewalls have a validity period. The licenses can be divided into perpetual licenses and licenses with an expirydate.

• Perpetual license: Afterpurchasing a license, you can activate it at any time. The correspondingfunctions are permanently available after the license is activated.
• License with an expirydate: After purchasing a license, you need to activate it before the licenseactivation deadline (within 1 year from the license delivery date). Otherwise,the days will be deducted from the validity period.
  

For licenses with an expiry date, the formula for calculating the license validityperiod is as follows: V = M x 365 – N.

• V: Remaining validityperiod (day)
• M: Number of licenses ofthe same type
• 
  N: Duration deducted fromthe validity period (day). If the license is activated before the activationdeadline, N = 0 (that is, no time is deducted). If it is activated after theactivation deadline, N = Actual activation date – Activation deadline.
