An AP will include its supportedrate set in the beacon frame sent to the PC, and the PC will also send itssupported rate set to the AP during snooping. During association, a rate setsupported by both parties is used for negotiation. After the association issuccessful, the AP and PC will use different rate sets based on the peer'ssignal strength. Therefore, the rate displayed on the PC may be different fromthat on the AP. The connection rate depends on the supported rate sets and signalstrength. |
