CAPWAP tunnel uses the Datagram Transport Layer Security(DTLS) encryption mechanism which is standard IETF protocol based on TLS. If the user's own data message (Wireless Payload) has been securely encrypted, for example, the wireless signal has been encrypted by WEP, WPA orWPA2, the user's own data message will be encrypted.
