We have additional /28 Public IPS from the ISP in addititon to the point to point IPs and would like to add the same to the router to be able to assign machines actual public ips without NAT. There is no where to do that on the RG routers. Can you advise on where to do this or which routers i am able to to this. |
may i ask if this is static ip address or pppoe? For PPPOE plz refer to https://community.ruijienetworks.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=3721&extra=page%3D1 If there is a static one, you may configure it on WAN port |
GTAC-Stella replied at 2023-11-20 16:56 the Scenario Our point to Point IP is 10.10.x.x.2/30 with a GW of 10.10.x.1 On the Same Link we have another 197.x.x.142/28 block of ips that i need to assign to machines begind the router. How we do this on other routers is we assign an VLAN with the 197.x.x.143/28 IP on the VLAN and then assign internal devices with for example a server with IP 197.x.x.144/28 with Gateway 197.x.x.143 this server should be reacheable on 197.x.x.144 from the internet |
Alex Mwaniki replied at 2023-11-20 17:02 all the IPS are from the same internet servive provider on the same phisical link |
GTAC-Stella replied at 2023-11-20 16:56 The ips are public |
I have the same issue too, want to add multiple public static ip addresses from the same ISP to the physical interface (WAN0), but can't find ways to do it. I'm using RG EG210G-E Anyone from Ruijie support please help? |
User 77563 replied at 2024-2-19 14:26 Dear sir Are the two addresses provided by the ISP the same network segment? If it is the same network segment, it cannot be configured, which will cause address conflicts if it is the different network segment , you can configure it on EG web interface directly |
GTAC-Joy replied at 2024-2-19 15:29 Hello guys, I think the provider is delivering a whole /28 block. It uses a private /30 IPs to make the static routing in and out. So in other brands routers is common to do this type of configuration. The egress is a default route pointing to the private IP /30 on the provider side. And the ingress there is two ways to do so: 1 - NAT 1-1 The public dst IP will redirect all connections to an internal IP (one rule for each public IP) 2 - Router assume all the 16 publics IPs and manipulate as necessary Reyee routers can do such a thing ? |
Edited by ethan T at 2024-4-25 15:11 Tiago replied at 2024-3-16 04:31I have been trying to do this on Ruijie/Reyee RG-EG210G-E. One IP static can only be assigned to one WAN port. So can't have other or additional /29 ip block from ISP to put into the same WAN port. So I can confirm it can't do that. Sadly but it is true. Even my other router which is open source and software-based can do this. I have not yet try to put other ip from same block to another WAN port, not sure if this can be done too. I really hope Ruijie Technical team can fix this in their future Router OS update |
ethan T replied at 2024-4-25 14:18 Hello sir, we received your request and we are really sorry that reyee EG cannot support dual-ip for WAN port currently and i will make a demand for your need and R&D will evaluate and may consider to add this function in the future. |
Edited by ethan T at 2024-4-25 15:21 GTAC-Stella replied at 2024-4-25 14:26Hello GTAC-Stella, Thanks for your prompt response. If I may suggest, please add this function in the future update: at least /29 netmask (which consist of 6 usable public ip addresses) can be assigned to single WAN Port of the router, and each of those ip addresses can be NAT-ed to internal network ip. Thanks again to hear my request. |
ethan T replied at 2024-4-25 15:15 Hello sir, ok noted, we give high importance to your advice and already suggested. Looking forward to hearing from you all the time. |
GTAC-Stella replied at 2024-4-25 15:45 Waiting for the update of this thread. Any update? Seems this product is not suitable for business use. |
Eric Llido replied at 2024-9-3 01:37 They have not updated or cared to do this. I think Ruijie products are just overrated. A basic edgerouter you can add more than 10 ips on the wan side to help you manage ptp links that are linked to the wan side. Ruijie routers cant do this and this is hectic. |
