Hi sir,

Good day,

Thank you for reaching out regarding the issue you're experiencing with device disconnections while roaming

To better assist you, could you please provide the following information:

1. The number of Access Points (APs) currently installed in the environment.

2. A topology and installation map of your current setup.

Understanding the number of APs and their placement is crucial because it directly affects the coverage and quality of the roaming experience. Insufficient APs or improper placement can lead to weak signals and frequent disconnections.

Here are some steps you can take to improve the roaming environment:

1. **Check AP Placement**:

   - Ensure that the APs are strategically placed to provide overlapping coverage without excessive interference.

   - Avoid placing APs too close to each other as this can cause signal interference.

2. **Adjust Radio Settings**:

   - Set the APs to operate on different channels to minimize interference.

   - Adjust the transmit power of the APs to ensure that the coverage areas overlap appropriately without creating dead zones.

3. **Use wifi optimization**:

   - Wi-Fi optimization is an intelligent and automatic RF optimization scheme tailored for complex scenarios with multiple APs. This function is supported by enterprise APs, most Reyee APs, and EGs. After the device enabled with Wi-Fi optimization collects spatial information, including the SSID, channel, signal strength, and client status (for example, transfer rate, delay, packet loss rate), it analyses information through the intelligent algorithm to provide the optimal network solution (channel and power planning for each AP), and automatically adjusts the configuration of APs on the network.

4. **Update Firmware**:

   - Ensure that all APs have the latest firmware updates, as these can include improvements for connectivity and roaming.

If you can provide the requested information, we can offer more specific recommendations tailored to your environment.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,

Steve

This is the topology

And this is sample of installation maps in building 1 (the yellow is AP)

Hi sir,

Did you check the Radio Settings? Could you please take a screenshot? Also did you do wifi optimization on cloud?

All aps broadcast the same ssid and the users are on the same network segment, right? How did you test roaming?  Could you please record a video of the test process?

Best regards,
Steve

wifi optimization already done.

i just use ping tools for test the connection and roaming.

Hello,

Can you help to check power and Roaming Sensitivity? Here is the path

Depending on your topology, if APs are only 10 meters apart and have walls. To avoid interference, you can try to adjust the power to about 60%-70% and test
If the distance between APs is 52 meters, the distance seems too far for the AP to cover.  For example AP820-L(V3) coverage is circle with 20-meter radius. If you set power as 100%, it means it can only cover 20meters.
Best regrads,Micca
