The numbers must be converted into 8-bit hexadecimal format. The first four bits indicate the role and the last four bits indicate the status.

Roles: 0 – unknown; 1 – master; 2 – slave

States: 0 – initialized; 1 – already selected as the master engine; 2 – ongoing synchronization with the masterengine; 3 – hot standby synchronization with the master engine completed; 4 –slave engine in cold standby state; 5 – slave engine in hot standby state; 6 –ongoing switching

For example, the number 19 converted into hexadecimal format is 13, with 1 indicating master and 3 indicates hot standby synchronization with the master engine completed.
