1. DLDP can be used only on Ethernet interfaces. BFD can be established between any two neighbors. 2. DLDP uses ICMP packets for detection. BFD uses its protocol to detect packets. 3. DLDP is a one-way detection behavior and can be used in one direction. BFD is a bidirectional detection behavior and needs enable BFD at both ends. 4. DLDP is based on an interface. That is, after detection fails, the interface (SVI, no switch port, and Layer-3 AP interface) is logically shutdown. BFD detects the connectivity between a neighbor pair and processes only the route entries associated with the BFD. |
