When multicast is enabled in the network, the PC can demand the multicast service. However, pause or pixilation mayoccur. |
Possible Causes 1) Packet loss occurs on interfaces or links. 2) Congestion occurs on switches. Troubleshooting Steps Step1: Check the topology connections.Check the following items: - Interfaces between the server and theswitches - IP address and MAC address of the server - Interfaces between the switches and theirIP addresses - Interfaces between the PC and theswitches - IP address and MAC address of the PC - IP address of the gateway show interfaces counters //Display the counterof error packets on each interface to check whether error packets such asFCSErrors increase continuously. If packet loss occurs on the hardware, replacethe interface and network cable to check whether the fault is rectified. Usethis method to check whether the next-hop switch is faulty. show interfaces counters rate //Checkwhether the rates at the ingoing and outgoing directions of each interfaceexceed the interface bandwidth. If yes, check whether the interface traffic isnormal and whether any attack occurs. Since GE interfaces are connected with theswitches while FE interfaces are connected with PCs, PCs may not able to processmulticast packets and therefore pixilation occurs. If it happens, enable flowcontrol on the interfaces and check whether the fault is rectified. Note: Flow control takes effect only whenit is enabled on the devices at both ends. Step 5: Check the flow control status oninterfaces. In multicast scenarios, enable flow controlon interfaces to prevent untimely packet processing in the case of greattraffic. Collect fault information by running thefollowing commands, record all operation logs and packet capture information, and report them to Ruijie technical support. show version show version slots show run show log show ip interface brief show interface status show interface counter sum show interface counter sum show interface counter sum show interface counter rate show interface counter rate show interface counter rate show interfaces counters errors show interfaces counters errors show interfaces counters errors show interfaces counters show interfaces counters show interfaces counters show arp counter show arp show cpu show cpu-protect mb show cpu-protect mb show cpu-protect mb show cpu-protect show cpu-protect slot X //X indicates the slot ID.
