HI THERE, may i know what is the reason when i choose IOT, the frequency band is only 2.4G ? any special on IOT wireless connection ? please advise |
Most IOT Devices do 2,4Ghz only. Reason is the much lower cost, no need for high data rate in such applications and the better range of 2,4Ghz. So with most vendors (and in this case Ruijie/Reyee) the IOT default configuration is 2,4Ghz only. |
poli5681 replied at 2024-2-22 06:04 hi why here it say it support 300m for 5ghz and 100m for 2.4ghz? 2.4ghz supposedly can go longer range right? |
Mobit Ong replied at 2024-2-22 07:43 Dear all, In response to your questions, the reason why the 5GHz band is not enabled on the IoT network is because the devices that work with IoT technology are configured to use the 2.4GHz band. For coverage, the range in the 5GHz band is greater than in the 2.4GHz band due to antenna gain. Best regards. Karen | Ruijie support team |
