I have AD domain controller setup on my network though I have an error joining workstations to the domain (see screenshot below). The domain controller is pingable on the workstation end but I suspect it cannot resolve the domain where to go. Can someone help me on this? Though I think I need to input somewhere the IP address where my DNS should point which is my domain controller within my ruijie router. Maybe in the Local DNS server (see screenshot) below? My objective is: To join all workstations connected to my network within my domain. My setup: Ruijie Router/Gateway > Ruijie Switch > Ruijie APs > End-users workstations. |
Dear JR Omega, When the domain controller is pingable on the workstation end, did you ping the IP address or the domain? Best regards, Jayden |
GTAC-Jayden replied at 2024-2-1 17:49 the IP address from the workstation as it is not yet within the domain so the DNS name is not yet possible. |
JR Omega replied at 2024-2-2 11:31 Dear JR Omega, If you are using a private DNS server, please kindly note the workstation IP and its corresponding hostnames should be added to the DNS server. Best regards, Jayden |
try this In ruijie - Setup the DNS Server pointing to your Primary domain controller address. Next go your Primary domain controller then configure the DNS server to Google DNS or desired DNS settings. |
