Edited by Sogi White at 2025-2-10 11:32 Hi, I have problems here, my vlan gateway overrides with default LAN gateway. I think this is kind of bug with the firmware. Or you have solution for this? In my case, My default LAN is 192.168.110.0/24 with gateway 192.168.110.1 I setup vLAN10 which the IP Subnet is 192.168.120.0/24 with gateway 192.168.120.1. hovewer, if I connect my wired clients to local LAN ports, it's get the default LAN IP address, but with the vLAN 10 gateway! how to solve this? I want to segmenting my networks. I'm using RG-EG210G-P-v3 Thanks. ![]() |
Hello there, I think I made mistake here, and I don't know what gateway is specific use in the dhcp option is. But, after I remove the gateway address from that, it's working as expected. ![]() Maybe, R&D team should give a clue to what's the use of it. Or, should they add more specific dhcp setup, like custom gateway address right? so we can more flexible to setup the networks. |
Sogi White replied at 2025-2-10 11:50 Dear It is the IP address of the default gateway or default route that the DHCP server assigns to clients. The default gateway is the next hop address used by a client to send data packets to an external network. It is responsible for forwarding the data packets to the target network. You can check the following guide for more details. https://reyee.ruijie.com/en-global/resources/preview/rg-eg-series-routers-reyeeos-2-324-configuration-guide/ ![]() |
GTAC-Ryan replied at 2025-2-10 18:53 Hi, What I'm thinking is, how to add custom gateway for each vlan instead of automatically generated by default like 192.168.x.1? |
Sogi White replied at 2025-2-10 19:09 Hi sir, By default, the gateway is used as the address pool server to allocate addresses to access clients. If an access switch is available in this networking, you can select this switch as the address pool server. Best regards, Steve specify the address pool server for access clients in this VLAN, and determine whether to create a new DHCP address pool.
