1. Choose Start>Run. In the Run dialog box, enter regedit and press Enter.

2. Locate and click the following registry entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CertSvc\Configuration\<CAName>.
Double-click ValidityPeriodUnits in the right pane. Select Decimal in Value data, enter a desired value (for example,enter 2, indicating two years of validity period), and then click OK.

3. Restart certificate service.

Note: Improper use of the registry editor may cause severe problems and the operating system may even need to be reinstalled.
